Night Of Mishaps
By Jenny Rose Kunnappally
A night of candlelight, fine dine & sparkling wine,
We danced our hearts out, all through the night,
As the light dimmed down, with passing time,
He walked me home and kissed me goodbye,
But sadly, none of this happened as he never showed up and stood me up at that night...
Hopeful for a next starry night,
Just to see you dressed uptight,
With flowers in hand, down on one knee to put a ring on mine,
Sending shivers down my spine,
A mood to remember, a feeling that lasts a lifetime,
But, yet again it was all in my head, dreaming about him yet again...
Waiting for that night, with my hopes up high,
Having cheap Chinese takeout and watching movies all night,
Wrapped in his warm cosy arms, comfortable under a blanket,
He whispers in his deep raspy voice, “Lovey, what would I do without you, I want nothing more than you.”
With tears of joy, I glance deep into his dark brown eyes,
Amid a moment so special, his luscious lips touched mine,
The world swept from right under my feet,
As our souls collide with the intention to never let go off my sight,
But this time my alarm goes off, waking me up from my long slumber night!
