Next Lifetime Maybe.
By Pranjli Chaturvedi
It's all like a movie in the beginning, until it isn't.
Too good to be true, indeed.
How could life ever be so perfect?
There were loopholes, scratches, and cuts so deep. It couldn't heal her.
It's messed up.
Does she hate love, or does love hate her? Is she the problem? The disaster? Maybe. Maybe not.
Perception changes humans.
You were so precious just a minute ago, until you weren't.
Life is good until it isn't.
Two separate paths, and God knows if we'll ever cross each other again.
Will we remember each other on our deathbeds?
The wound is fresh right now, so I might say yes.
Time heals, right? I hope it heals me.
How far will I run?
But was it my fault to expect in return what I gave?
Maybe our definition of love differed so greatly, it had to part us.
Or maybe not. I do not have answers.
Now we are gone, far away somewhere. Your neutrality sits next to me now, not you.
And now there are no tears; life gets us used to things.
But there was silence, a numbness for a split second.
Maybe this is how one becomes stronger?
So, next lifetime maybe?
We will meet.
