New Year Poem

By Madiraju Anagha Devi

Dear 2025,

you may not promise me to not give me new tears,

but I have a new way to conquer my fears.

Dear 2025,

you may not promise me an year full of smiles,

but I turn my whines into brand new miles.

Dear 2025,

you may not make my old friends stay with me forever this year,

but I can make new friends every year.

Dear 2025,

more than now, you may dump me into more despair,

but I grieve, only to repair.

Dear 2025,

you may turn me away from happiness by the end,

but I use my sadness, as a source to mend.

Dear 2025,

you may bring me losses,

only for me to realise that they are the biggest wake up bosses

Dear 2025, last but not the least,

you may not promise me an year without ups and downs,

But I can promise you an year with more smiles and less frowns.
