New Kings and Queens

By Amrutha L

To the races we begin to compete,

To complete each lap, here is the cheer,

The beginnings of a good story,

The start of a poem,

The music of a song,

The slight breeze on a sunny evening,

Cheers to all these mesmerizing events.

A hero is born, a villain has started to unveil,

The constant running of the storyline, the start of the prequel,

The echoes of joy, the wails of failure, the cries of agony,

The smiles faked, the angered being true, the jealous green,

Everything multiplied over the years.

The dance during the nights, the pressure of the days,

Then finally the boom of the victory,

Resonating through the veins,

Remember when it all started,

Cheers to the beginnings

Of new eras, kingdoms, new Kings and Queens.
