Never Gone

By Rimsha Shaikh

I still feel the warmth

Of your breath before a kiss

Still feel

Your noticeable presence

Still feel the moist imprint

Of your lips on my forehead

Still have my hair tousled

from when they were last caressed

Still hear the mesmerizing sound

Of your laughter

Still smell

Your favorite perfume

Still understand

Every unsaid thing between us

Still value your opinions

On the most ordinary things

Still respect your every decision

Except…

The one you made

Of leaving me

Somehow, you are gone

But you are also never gone
