Never Giving Up On Love

I fell in love with his alluring eyes,

I fell in love with his charming smile.

I fell in love with his child- like innocence,

I fell in love with his wisdom.

I fell in love with his very presence...

I have bunked classes to catch his glimpse...

I have stood in the corridor just to see him pass by…

I would sit in the crowd to see him win debates…

I would laugh out on every joke he cracked.

Every time he looked at me, it would brighten my day…

Every time he came and talked, I discovered magic in his words.

I took subjects which he took, I attended classes in which he was there…

My friends would sometimes call me a stalker, but nothing could stop me from being his secret doting lover!!

Times changed we grew up, but my heart didn’t…

School was coming to an end, but I was pretty sure my story wasn’t!!

Today or tomorrow I would gather courage and tell him how much I love him,

But probably I was an amateur in this divine and devastating world of love!!

I was there right in front of him…pouring my heart out,

but the next moment there I was gathering the scattered pieces of my heart…

To me he meant the universe, but to him I was just an acquaintance!!

While he had found his true love in someone else, I was finding it hard to move on…

As they say loving too much isn’t good, but how could I stop loving him?

I would still find reasons to see him…

I would still go mad on seeing him…

On some days, I would cry my heart out, thinking he was never in my destiny…

And on some days there was still some hope left…

It was suffocating, it was toxic,

It was disheartening, it was devastating!!

My days and nights were soaked in melancholy…

Love was an emotion never meant for me…

All I could do now is hold up my feelings and lock it fiercely in my heart!!

I had drawn walls around my heart, which no one could ever cross.

But probably love is like lightning on a clear day, it happens when you least expect it!!

Someone has tried hard to pull me out of this shell…and how long I could resist?

After all I too was once a doting lover…

How long could I resist a person like that, who couldn’t take his eyes off me?

Who makes me feel the centre of his world!

The one who wraps himself around me, when I’m shattered.

The one who feels like home…

His love not just demands, it fulfills…

He adores me the way I am…raw, unfiltered and unapologetic…

He makes me feel loved, he makes me feel wanted….

He gives life to my dreams and makes me believe in fairytales!!

When you have longed for love the whole of your life, you can’t wait to adorn it when love finally strikes!!

And here I start my new life, the one I always dreamt of…

With the one who has taught me that love is not just the butterflies you get when you see him…love is the sense of fulfillment you get when he’s with you…

Love is not just wishing to be together, it’s actually being together…

Love is not a chase, it’s about touching the finishing line together!!

Two years later, when sometimes I sit down to ponder,

I am still amazed that how did I got so lucky?

It would have been my biggest misfortune if I hadn’t met my husband!!

Probably we meet people for a reason,

And he has made me realize,

You sooner or later get the love you wish for…

And all that happens in between is life…

And I’m never giving up on both!!
