Never

By Billy Johnson

We finally had our first big fight.

Though we love one another, we still disagree.

I know without you, my life isn't right.

I'm in life's prison, I'm no longer free.

You don't understand. I'm  yours always.

I don't understand that you feel the same.

There's still many things that we just won't say.

To be in love means never any games.

Your heart is heavy. I feel your pain.

I must say the words to soothe your heart.

I love you, dear, don't shut me out. I can only see till death do we part.

When I see you, I see many great things.

I see flowers, butterflies, and birds that sing.

I see rainbows, treasures, and a life with you.

I see a love that all will know is true.

So, back to the breach, let's make a pact.

To be forthright and share our souls.

To never be afraid and stay on track.

Our love is ordained, and it will never grow old.

It will never be other than what it is.

Two people who know that love is divine.

It will never be heartache, pain, and tears.

Our love will transcend the sands of time.

I was in life's prison, but I'm finally free.

I know with certainty that you love only me.

To think otherwise just seems absurd.

I will never doubt you. You have my word.

You are my queen. Of that, I am sure.

And never again will I think differently.

I know you're not perfect, but your heart is pure.

My love for you, the whole world will see.

Never is such a powerful word.

It's often said, but rarely true.

But I say this with all my heart.

That I will never, ever stop loving you.
