National Pollution Control Day
By Neha Raj
National Pollution Control Day is celebrated pn 2nd December every year since 2nd December 1984 i.e. Bhopal Gas Tragedy.
It is needless to define pollution as we have been taught the definitions of pollution in schools. We even know that pollution is increasing day by day. The condition is getting worse and we’re being affected. If it comes to dig the reasons behind the pollution, we have many reasons. If we’re to play the blame game, we’ll either blame the government or the errant public. Would it sort out the problem?
Yes, the government has taken measures to curb pollution. Yes, the public has started being serious on this matter. But, is that enough? Why people try to pull the legs of one another if the other person is trying to do something appreciative? Ultimately, all are going to suffer if we don’t get united and curb this problem at the earliest and efficiently. People should suggest the best possible ways and the government should implement the best plans.
One of the ways can be to walk on foot for the smaller distances, to ride a bicycle for the distances coverable and to take shared public transport facilities for the longer distances. By choosing the option of walking or riding a bicycle, it will prove to be the icing on the cake as it’ll help you in remaining fit. Now, it depends on you. Either sit back, suffer and play the blame game or come forward, do your part including creating awareness and get united to mitigate the pollution at the earliest.
