My Sweet Salvation

By Khushi Gupta

She was made of sunlight and rain.

Her scent resembled wet leaves and honeydew.

Moonlight envied her gleam.

Flames danced in her eyes

Loving her was easy

Keeping her wasn't

She was a curious girl

A wanderer

Noone could keep her

Noone could stop her

She was a flower growing in the wilderness

A flower that could bloom even in fires and deluges.

A flower meant to burgeon

A fairy of the cosmicity

An angel of Nirvana

The brightest star of firmaments

A Mystic

An illusion

And I?

A mere human smitten by her light

Smeared by her touch

She was the ocean and I was marine.

How could one not be besotted by her?

She was fiercely perfect.

My sweet salvation.
