My Spooky Nightmare
By Rebecca Joe Mathew
After a long day at school, I was so tired and fell fast asleep on my bed that Thursday. I soon landed up in a dream where there was a huge star in the ground both in red and blue… The devil from out of the blue pounced in and occupied the red portion while a beautiful angel descended onto the blue half. Alas! a war broke out between the devil and the angel. As the battle grew fiercer with time, the star seemed to be flashing in red with the devil triumphing over. The devil now raging in shades of red soon disappeared leaving the angel in the battlefield. With a huge roaring blast there was an eruption of blood pouring out into the ‘Land of Good’ drowning the angel to death.
Ever since, there had been horrifying news about people dying randomly all of a sudden. But what was so strange was that every time someone died, they went missing for a day then was found dead with blood stains all over the body. The post mortem report indicated no signs of injuries or found no traces of chemicals in the body and the person died of a heart attack. The cops tried their best to probe the source of blood but in futile. However, after a while there was a positive turning point in their investigation. The phones of the victims when found had a command in gold which read “Step on blood”. Suddenly I got caught in a whirlpool of scare and when it all came to stillness, I found my phone vibrating. With thoughts flooding in and cold sweats breaking out of my forehead, I reached out to my phone. Woah! The nightmare had just begun!! I was the new prey!! There on my phone I read those letters dripping in blood red colour “Step on blood”.
I rose up in a state of shock. It was still night…My blurry vision gradually becoming clearer, sounds getting louder and louder, desperate screams and bitter cries were heard outside. I rushed to the window pane to find blood puddles everywhere, men and women collapsing, kids crying and screaming at the eerie sight. I sat up straight devastated only to find the floor of my room slowly getting covered in blood. I sensed the bloody pool rising up, touching my feet and me getting immersed. I was frozen and numb! My sobbing instead bursted out in a ravaging thunder of laughter.
Amidst the cold dreadful night, the walls of my room drew closer suffocating me, my breath growing heavier. I blacked out…!!!! And when I woke up, I found myself in a coffin. I asked someone, “why am I in here!?!?” In disbelief she looked at me and stammered “You didn’t wake up or move since 3 days, we took you to the hospital and the docs declared that you were dead...”
I was in shock!!!
