My Precious Astatine

(In the voice of a mother to her daughter.)

My darling one,

how could I not know

why my girl’s little heart

Is trembling?

Shhh - Mommy’s here.

Dear little love,

Mommy loves you

like the sunsets love the ocean,

and the stars love the skies.

My dear,

don’t let those tears - so rare -

stain your rosy cheeks;

don’t let any make you wail.

My precious princess,

never let them dare

step inside

my angel’s heart.

My little angel,

one fine day,

you’ll find a love

as rare as Astatine.

Do not weep, sweetheart, for your Mommy’s love - forever you shall know.
