I look outside the window,

The birds are chirping fine,

Dazzling sun peeks high on the clouds,

And I smile everything will be alright.

I write another letter to me and my wounded soul,

I keep it hidden in the small shoe box,

That keeps my sorrow and all my hopes,

It was witness to my failure and my victory,

My transformation from the little girl that cried all night when her myth about fairy and Santa broke cruelly,

Because some thought, living in those dreams are not alright but I wiped my tears and still smiled.

My shoe box may be old and broken,

But I repair it yearly like my mended soul,

That also face wear and tear but still pull through from all my hopes,

My shoe box also have photos,

Some faded, some bright.

Some may look ugly but that's alright.

They testify my survival after I thought to end it all,

I opened my shoe box to relive again that fight, fear and all.

To fight that depression that was like dark cloud,

I daily opened my box to take a chance again at the fight,

It's my companion my bestfriend,

It will be my history to my children that may open it someday when they to get confused or cause some blunder.

But to pass it further is still some time away,

There are still many memories that I have left to stow away,

Let it be my friend for some more years,

Let it be my treasure with some nit grit from my past, present and future that have yet to come,

Let it be my witness,

That I am also a human that shoulders past mistakes that are yet to come.

I place the letter back inside,

I am smiling and feeling it's alright,

Another day came and went ,

My shoe box have some new content,

I open my door and step out,

Come all my troubles have another round,

Let the fun begin...
