My New Year Resolution list.

2020 -Travel to foreign countries. 2021 - Learn computer programming. 2022 - No Drinking/Smoking. 2023 - Donate to poor & needy.

2024 - Write A Book 'My SoulMate'. 2025 - Get 8 pack abs.

Last year it was to a write a book.

The year before it was to donate money.

And so on & on...

It is safe to say they all went down the drain.

Buy this year is going to be different.

You ask why? Well I don't know that yet. But it will.

This year, I began with the green tea.

Aah! Morning.

Got into new jogging clothes & sports shoes.

Took a selfie. I went for a run by the sea.

Decided to be as fit as a horse.

Overcame the desires to eat 'Poha & Jalebi' on road.

I stayed on course.

For a lunch, my mother made Roti, Dal, Pulav & Mix Veg.

For dessert, she bribed me with the Gulab Jamuns.

I can tell. She wanted to ruin my diet plan.

I only ate diet food. Had to go to the room to avoid the sweet smell.

I wished all my friends. 'Happy New Year' To you as well.

They asked me to go to the party with them.

Where expensive foods & drinks will be served. And the music will be loud.

I said - No, Never felt so proud.

I read a book to distract myself from the thoughts of party.

At Evening, I took my dinner.

I ate scrambled eggs with spinach & tomatoes. Instead of going to party. I did the next best. I went for a walk to digest.

Distracted by the people going to parties. Wearing expensive clothes in sport cars.

I slipped on ice & broke my ankle.

One kind person took me to the Hospital. Thank You for your hospitality - I said.

What? - He asked. Happy New Year - I cleared.

After full body check up.

Doctor said - You have a Lateral Malleolus Fracture.

I innocently replied - Doctor, I have no such thing in my body.

He added - You have broken your ankle. You had to bed rest for a month.

But what will happen to My New Resolution - 'To run everyday & get abs'.- I asked

Nurse said - Sorry, your New Year Resolution is ruined.

I smiled & said - No worries, 2026 is only few months ahead.

Although My New Year Resolution is ruined.

Do let me know yours.

Your Well-Wisher
