Love passes over me like a brush,
A psychic tingling that prickles my skin,
A whispered thought that I can’t make out,
An unexplainable warmth expelled through my pores.
In your presence, I can’t help but paint the sky
And dream of more as I wish upon a star.
Like water, you have no end nor beginning.
You are a timeless manifestation of life,
You are an embodied experience,
A film that cannot be tamed in a frame,
The pattering rain in sync
With the rhythmic beat of life.
You’ve pleasantly taken over me
Like a tepid rainfall on a sun-drenched evening.
What I feel for you is unspoken but understood,
As if you had breathed life into my lungs and set my soul ablaze.
What I feel for you was bound to surface
Like a plume of magma oozing from my inner core,
Like the root system of a blossoming plant:
I’m your Lichtenberg flower.
To close my eyes in your embrace
Is to free-fall with the certitude
That nothing else matters.
I can let go, knowing that in the end,
I’ll find my way back to you.
You fit into my enigmatic puzzle
Like the key to my ever-changing lock.
I’ve been struck with conviction
And need not more time nor prompts to tell you—
I love you.
