My Mother

My dear brave mother, you are my flight feather.

You are the one whom I immensely glorify,

For your efforts in turning a caterpillar into a butterfly.

The way you love me is distinct,

Your tender warmth made me imprint.

My life is lovely because of you,

In your shielded arms, I peacefully grew.

In this world of turmoil, for me, you had to toil.

Tolerating my nuisance was tedious,

Your reactions for me had to be instantaneous.

You got no time to pamper your desire,

Your sacrificing nature the world will admire.

You helped me grow in my own way,

You never considered me under your sway.

You brighten my path on my darkest day.
