My Mom
By Sara Debbarma
I see you growing in pain everyday,
Yet I didn’t do anything
Didn’t have what it need to keep you safe
So I said wait a little longer; until I succeed.
But time seems to be moving too fast
I feel like an ungrateful daughter,
Yet I choose silence
I know your pain
But I didn’t know how to stop it
So I choose silence
You can say I am heartless,
As my words are harsh, actions are limited
Wish I know how to convey this emotions,
Because I chose silence; yet again
So I could hide my fear of losing you.
