My Mentor

By Shreya

Her grit and her dedication

made her my inspiration.

She put the concentrate in my concentration

and added thrust to my aviation.

She caught me midway in deviation,

shifting into fifth gear of transformation.

Her counseling and her motivation

brought us close to the destination.

Her vessels wait for time’s decoration—

its slow reveal: the grace of patination.

Her legacy will shine,

as her artworks live their lives to fruition.
