My Keralam

Cushioned the head on the lap of western-

Ghats, caressed by the great Ocean,

Clad in green attire, crowned with paddy

Gold is my gorgeous mother Keralam.

Scent of her spices breezed past the

Seas, the seductive fragrance enticed the

Sailors to venture on sail ships just to

Sense it, but they settled in her warmth.

Curves of her vivacious rivers, bubbly

Crisscrossing streams seduce whoever

Come across.They are the arteries

Carrying lifeblood to this land.

Lustful lakes and lagoons immerse your

Longings till thirst is doused.

Beaches, bright sunshine and copious rains

Beckon the revellers to indulge.

Peaking wilderness pull you to ecstasy.

Pristine greenery and trees of life that

Proudly hold the head high welcome you

Perennially to savour the diverse.

Temple of arts and culture

Home to the most literate

Lodges the visitors with warm

Hospitality, "the god's own country".
