My Hero – My Dad

By Rekha

He hold’s my hand to drop me in the school and

scolds me if I had no goals

He pats on my back during my failure and

slaps on my cheeks if it is repeated

He talks me proud in front of others and

shouts at me if am not bothered

He admire me becoming an elder

This makes him proud as he grew older

Now I search him to hold his hand but

I can only touch the burnt ashes in the land.

My Hero – My Dad.

A father plays a crucial role in every son’s and daughter’s life. Right from holding your finger when you take your first step he is there by your side, like a pillar of strength you can always lay back on. He gets so occupied in being your support system, that he forgets his own dreams and desires. From dropping his children in school and picking them from tuition in the evening you are his first priority.

In all his sacrifices, lies the happiness of the family. He wishes for you to have what he couldn’t, he hopes for you to reach the heights he couldn’t, for this he puts in his heart and soul. He wishes for his son to lead a wealthy life and his daughter to be a healthy wife. He never says no to their children’s wish and always prefers to give the best to the children’s wish. He becomes older as their children’s grow up and he love to be taken care by them in his old ages.

They got you home and made you what you are today, so don’t turn your back at them when you need to do the same. No parent should have to see the sight of an old age home, for they deserve a palace for what they did for you not some clumsy little corner in an old age home. Don’t you forget your responsibility, because you will be in their shoes very soon.
