My Everyday Storm

I don’t understand how

The courage comes and fires me up

To stand in the tornado in the heavy downpour

Trying to blow me away by the winds of patriarchy

Still I stay to drown in rainfall

Until it melts away my stability.

I don’t know where

The hope comes and strengthens me up

To behold my ambitions in front and clear

Blurring my vision by the dusts of inequality

Still I face the hits of storm there

Until it burns my tranquility.

I don’t know why

The persistence comes and lightens me up

To not succumb to monotonous ferocity

After fighting the inequality, I go to work

Still I go to work to fight the inequality

Until it is nothing but dark.

When my patience breaks and everything is wrong

I don’t know how, why and where does

Hope, Courage, Persistence and strength comes

And I get up again to face my everyday storm.
