My Doubt

Oh God, was I ever right

To have followed the path you showed?

Was there any justice of the thorns

That in your haloed path you bestowed?

For those who follow your light

Are ever condemned to boundless pain,

Will their suffering, their tears,

At last go in vain?

Or, shall you be there, at the end

To lend your hand to us,

To those who chose to follow

The hard way your will does?

Speak out, oh God, for us faithful,

Show you are there in our midst,

Tell us oh God, tell us loud

Tell us loud you do exist.
