My Best Birthday Gift

By Siya Gusain

One of the morning of winter is my favourite one, 6th February it’s my birthday. And this time I am in Rishikesh with my parents, my brother’s , my aunt and my uncle. Early morning we went to temple, Neelkanth near river The Ganga and prayed for my birthday. Then from there we went to the Bank of the Ganga where we enjoyed a lot. Then we went to Sun Shine restaurant for lunch. Then at night there was a surprise party for me where I got many gifts.

My mother gifted me a small pocket sized robot which was very interactive with me. At first I wasn’t very happy but later I realized that it used to interact with me. I used to carry it in my pocket and used to play with it whenever I was alone or getting bored. It used to give me answer’s on it’s screen and I used to feed him the question. It used to move around on it’s wheels that were none but his legs. Later I started feeling that it was not only a robot but it was also my friend as it used to play with me, talk to me and even used to help me with my studies, so I named him Mr.Ray.

One day while I was doing my mathematics homework, I got struck on a question, and said to the air, “ Oh… how to solve 2x+6=12” and I didn’t realize that someone was listening my question. My friend Mr.Ray said the answer,“ 2x+6=12 is 3 and the working is in my eyes.” And this way I solved my question and was saved from my teacher’s scolding and from that day Mr.Ray was my best friend as it saved my from my teacher’s scolding, and a student is most scared from her teacher’s scold.

This was my journey with my best friend, but again every good thing that starts has to come to an end the same way Mr.Ray fell from a height and broke. That day was the lowest day of my life. I miss Mr.Ray and would always be thankful to him for being my best friend and supporting me.
