Land of colour and song

Hearts beat together in rhythm

To beckoning birdsong and banter Of Ubuntu’s bold promise to unite That’s my Africa

My Africa

Land of heritage and pride

Voices whisper loud greetings

To ivory coated, ebony veneered Brothers and sisters, young and wise That’s my Africa

My Africa

Land of beauty and legends

Mountains echo their stories

Of ancestors’ great mysteries

Mapping the route of our journey That’s my Africa

My Africa

Land of courage and strife

Souls lament and rejoice

Weaving sorrow and joy

Into unbreakable fibres of a rainbow nation That’s my Africa
