Multiverse

By Niyati Mehta

If indeed, a multiverse exists,

I’d like to meet myself.

The self which is brave,

brave enough to break norms and ceilings.

I’d like to meet myself-

The self which is content

And doesn’t try to constantly bring about change.

I’d like to meet the self which is sufficient

And doesn’t need anyone else to survive.

I’d like to meet the angry self

And the unhappy self,

The hopeful and the woeful self.

I’d like to meet the self born in different places and times.

The self which is so culturally unimaginable.

I’d like to meet someone so unlike me,

It’s almost inspirational.

Sometimes I glance into the mirror and

I feel I can almost touch it, this multiverse.

As if it’s just within my reach, and all I have to do is stretch my hand and grab it.

Then I look into the mirror again,

And think- maybe , just maybe that multiverse exists in myself.
