Morning Blues

By Daniel John Simmons

The more I yearn for you,

The more you keep me up.

I have a ticket that's due,

A ticket that would take me to you.

Your smile would light the morning sky,

But that's not the only thing you do.

You make me feel shy,

Cause you light me up boo.

The feeling of touching you is real,

The yearning to hold you is strong.

The pain makes me squeal,

Is all of this wrong?

I will wait for you patiently,

And you may start to hate.

But I will take it all in painfully,

Cause I know you are worth the wait.
