More To Me

There’s more to me than people know,

Some truths, some lies

Some friends, some allies

There’s more to me than people know,

Some smiles in disguise,

The nights comforting my cries

There’s more to me than people know

Some pep talks to myself

Forgiving my enemies and not avenging thyself

There’s more to me than people know

Some old wounds which still bleed

But I try to pay no heed

There’s more to me than people know

The bags of burden I carry,

Or the bags under my eyes that resemble charry

There’s more to me than people know

But I like it that way,

i wish i could speak but I'd rather not say
