Moon Tell Me

Not even the moon is perfect

Surrounded by a million stars

Each moment reminded of its scars

Compared to emotions

Always judged for its actions

But never thanked enough for the light

Which may not be very bright

But is still enough

To keep someone from drowning in the darkness

Never for keeping us company

Even when our own thoughts fail us

Then tell me why is it so?

That we compare ourselves

To such a bittersweet creation

Known for its beauty

Yet hated for bringing upon us a darkness

That it itself is the solution to

Tell me then

Why do we measure our love with it

What if it is hollow within

What if it lurks

Never given the perks

Of being the main character itself
