Not even the moon is perfect 

Surrounded by a million stars 

Each moment reminded of its scars 

Compared to emotions 

Always judged for its actions 

But never thanked enough for the light 

Which may not be very bright

But is still enough 

To keep someone from drowning in the darkness 

Never for keeping us company

Even when our own thoughts fail us 


Then tell me why is it so?

That we compare ourselves 

To such a bittersweet creation 

Known for its beauty 

Yet hated for bringing upon us a darkness

That it itself is the solution to


Tell me then

Why do we measure our love with it

What if it is hollow within 

What if it lurks 

Never given the perks 

Of being the main character itself
