Misery

It was mid-June, I was sitting on a chair in my veranda, feeling the breeze blow past my face, cold and soothing. That evening was very blissful, weather was slowly changing, skies were darker than before, it seemed like rain was on it's way here. The cuckoo started cooing, calling her birdies back to the shelter, her cooing was so melodious to the ears and ethereal. You joined me, slowly hugging my back, cooing in my ears, imitating the cuckoo. I looked at you and smiled, my heart felt warm, my hands clasping your hands, feeling your gentle skin and never letting them go. Moment was broken because of the thundering rain, we ran together, hand-in-hand to our home, started laughing looking at each other completely drenched, we changed and met again near the windows, you offered me the coffee and I appreciated the efforts, because the kitchen section was always mine.
We talked about lots of thing over our coffee, it felt like the first date we went out on, we never stopped talking about our love for music, movies, etc., that was the day when I felt, this bond is beyond connection, it can only be felt, the same date I reminisced that evening whilst looking at you speaking gibberish, and incidentally the dates were same, my brain knowingly clicked, remembered that 6 years had passed away and we're happy together, my eyes were filled with little glee tears, being with you I felt complete. You told me that we'll remember this day as our 6th drenched anniversary and I spat my coffee while laughing all over the floor, it was a beautiful evening, I was thankful to have such happy go lucky person as the main part of the core of my life. Today, after 6 years it's the same day, instead of 6th it's 12th drenched anniversary, and honestly I'm completely drenched standing outside in this berserk rain, in front of your graveyard. You chose the wrong day to leave me, I thought we were suppose to drench together today but you ran away to the place known as heaven. It was hard to stand alone without you beside me, I cried a lot while looking at your grave, rain was helpful to hide my tears, I wouldn't like it if you saw me like this, with my heart weighing down I slowly kneeled in front of your grave while laying daffodils on it the one which you loved the most, kissed your tomb stone and smiled with tears in my eyes, saying "Happy 12th drenched anniversary, love."
