Mirth and Mischief

By Susmita Nandi

I love holding your hand on a winter evening.

In the midst of summer, I yearn for your silence.

When the sky weeps, I long for your solace.

And with every falling leaf, together we embrace our mirth and mischief.

As we journey through the heartbeat of the earth, an eternal tranquillity envelops us.

I leave a piece of myself tangled in your memories,

to every world we unveil.

The tenderness of your amber eyes makes the world fade away.

I wager no soul as gentle as yours exists in this world.

No, we aren’t lovers; we are just two happy souls,

surrounded by love, bound by love.
