Midnight Velvets

By Anchita Jayaparakash Narayan

I saw her sway gracefully,

Draped in velvet midnight blues.

A dream? A possibility? A reality?

Or perhaps none of them true.

Time stretched aimlessly,

Capturing every second of you.

The wind whispered sweet nothings,

As the stars sang just for you.

Your laugh made the wind blush,

Carrying its melodies through my thoughts in a rush.

Nothing else mattered anymore,

Just me, you, and your velvet midnight blue.
