Midnight Musings

If love is a tapestry,

Will you pick all your incandescent hues,

To thread them with my darker ones?

If forever’s a memory,

Shall we untie the binds of time, so I can weave me with you-

and hold on, till the mauve sky turns to a diaphanous dawn?

When bittersweet dreams come with their feather quilts,

To drape your soul with haunted feelings-

I know I’m strong enough to slumber in your arms,

'til the sun wakes me up with you!

When I’ve used the last drop of my scarlet quill,

To pour out every inch of my forbidden healings-

Would you be brave enough to steal the raven inked ones,

and read every letter of mine, too?

Why is it that the worst of times bring forth the best of burning rhymes?

Setting fire to raining secrets,

Just between you and I-

Why is it that the one who loves you the most is willing to let you go?

Even if it hurts, wish I could show,

Every little thing I’d do to stay- I’m selfish- couldn’t let you walk away.

How can something be so pure and true-

That every cocooned emotion desires to break free,

Into myriads of a billion, brilliant, beautiful butterflies dancing in ecstasy!

How delicately do your senses seep through?

That I understand you, with just a glance at my heart,

That intertwines my goldé blush with your words: a mesmerizing start of this wondrous art-

Let me know,

What colours do your smiles hide,

When you breathe out whispers of scintillating endearment?

Ain’t it a wonder-

Oh, what brilliant crescents line our shadows in hindsight!

For happiness embraces us with a nurturing enrichment,

When trust consumes every vulnerable armour.

Where do broken dreams go,

Once we wrap them away with glittering thorns, to welcome the brand new?

So, do you finally know where mended hearts glow-

Once they’ve been forged in the fire of time, to sail through maelstroms with a courage anew?

You say our souls are entwined like vines encasing the scrolls of fate;

What a sign, no deceit, no hidden lies,

An imperfectly perfect design, dipped in blossoming ornate!

If love is a tapestry,

Will you keep enchanting my wires of illusion,

To wreathe them with your silken spirit?

If forever’s a memory,

Can we soar beyond these star-studded midnight musings,

And tune in to our melodic phantasia, without any veiled limit?
