Meteor

The apocalypse was happening right in front of me

but I was too busy staring into your eyes.

I ignored the warnings signs, didn't pay any heed,

now the friction between us turned me into something I can't even recognise.

Maybe in some way, I did sabotage myself,

for the warmth you provided was more than I ever bargained for.

That's exactly what people like me have been conditioned to,

we see a glimpse of hope and we run for help,

that says a lot about the lack of care and unspeakable things we've been through.

And I should've never taken the leap

for I should've known that you would never catch me,

I let emotions get the best of me and fell in too deep,

but it was too late for me to realize that I could never be someone you need.

That, you were only meant to be my tear and nothing more,

oh, if only I had seen any of this coming,

but I helplessly burned like a meteor,

seems like I really did mistake flying for falling.
