Metamorphosis
By Purnima Ray
I played with my tears,
Behind the feary glass of illusion,
Supposedly content with a gift not mine to hold,
Painting the walls to grow it strong,
Leaving all the belongings afar!
Little did I realise,
There's a knocking in the darkness within,
That mocks my guarded edge,
When they saw my scar still bleeds,
From a diamond line, shining like a hollow sun!
I was fleeting,
From the shadow war, as my ghost flame felt like a first!
Fought still like a storm of steel,
Against all the possibilities of light's return,
To silence the unfolding of horizons!
I was alone in my battle yet,
For my psyche had no metals for a slaughter,
Had no whispers of tangible chaos to brush against,
It just knocked, with the lips' lantern,
And took me without a struggle into his realm of Aurora!
I sneaked to see through the veil,
Walking into tomorrow, undressing the shadow of my past,
With just a torch of hope & broken pieces still,
To find my universe flickering around,
And weave back into the lyrical song of self!
The little steps that I pressed into the wind,
Unmasked the dreams I had as if a secret flower blossom,
My eyes revamped the flame from the stars,
As if a body with a night's handwriting,
Got rethreaded & recrafted into a soul of gold!
The walls standing still are now shaking,
To wither like a fading petal,
For now, I need to embrace those silent ruins,
That pushed me past the shore of fear,
To love the ghost in my own skin!
I am rewriting myself,
Kissing the time's hand behind my back,
I am changing, carrying both the echoes & the bloom,
To unfold my star seeded within & blurry the veil of I,
To live out of existence in a universe where my soul & I meet!
