Men Will Be Men

His eyes walked up the contours of her body,

His lips passed the shredding verdict, dark and shady.

His mind has fed over her flesh often,

His actions have tamed her spirit to rest in a coffin.

His love’s fury has vanished the existence of gentleness,

His care, lauded by world, has chained her hopeless.

His advocates, summoned her proofs of love,

His lies have broken the divine vow.

He left her for someone his eyes called pretty,

In the world’s sight, it was her who lost the integrity.

Well, I wondered how she lost it though,

She paid the price for his every blow.

Nothing to lose, his eyes dodged through her elegant threads,

Yet, her unsent signals were the cause, claimed the rebels.

His words and works have tattooed scars on her soul,

Yet, it was perceived as his love, left him on parole.

They expect her to be bold, resilient, meek and a little shy,

Every filth of a man is washed with “Men will be Men” but why?
