Memories Never Die

Starlit silhouettes,

Reflected in pigment blue,

Tap on sacred doors,

As the skies above break through.

Patient points of light

Glance from far away.

Whispering to the dust beneath,

Of another broken day.

Close among the specks,

Shines the silvered moon.

Stopping all of time,

For needed breath, strewn.

Like a sister to the constellations,

Watchful of the sea

Like a daughter of the stars -

The moon is beautiful, isn’t she?

A moment in a time,

Eternal, everlasting.

Scattered across the universe

By fragmented minutes passing.

All that flickers out there,

Eventually fades in melting highs.

Staring out into open space -

Memories never die.
