Memorable Day

For the very first time when I took the wheel, I would say “it was such a zeal”.

After my tenth finals, I reached my uncle in Tamil Nadu even before I could get my results.

Cool, fresh and a lot of greens.

Guess what?

I had reached the Queen of Hills (Ooty/Udhagamandalam).

Warm and fuzzy, I was welcomed home with the morning chirps surrounded with tons of misty clouds.

Racing games were the only means for me to experience driving.

Graphical and unrealistic.

But the real life driving just gave me chills.

Next day afternoon, I was taken to the driving grounds.

Expecting it to be a drier patch but was a moisty land.

Learning turned out to be a bit too dare.

I managed the day quite well but the next day wasn’t a day I would dwell as I had to hit those serpentine roads.

Facing the road with those blinded curves made me nervous.

The sudden brakes and horse like driving made me feel not to steer anymore.

My uncle said “don’t worry, beginners take time to achieve perfection”.

As trucks and trailers emerged the blind, rattled was I dealing with edgy routes.

Days passed. My driving transitioned from novice to pro.

The edgy routes became a piece of cake.

I craved to drive all alone.

Just like in games I used to play, the transition from unrealistic to real marks my memorable day.
