Melody From A Dream

All at once, the world scattered,
pieces of time scattered like glass.
I reached,
not for the pieces, but for the pulse of something softer.
I extended my hand,
hoping to catch love as it drifted past,
elusive but near,
like mist in morning air.
And then, there it was,
a melody, faint, almost forgotten,
echoing from somewhere deep inside,
a song I’d heard before,
from a half remembered dream.
The sound weaved through my hair,
gentle as the breeze,
as if it were a torn page from a book,
I loved so long ago.
Its words, worn and fading, dissolving in water,
like sunlight slipping to the ocean’s depths,
where light becomes a memory.
And there, in the silence between each note,
I felt the weight of forgotten things,
Like shadows stretching across an endless sky.
the melody faded, leaving only echoes,
like distant whispers of something I once knew.
But still, I reached
for love, for the dream, for the pieces left behind,
my hand tracing the air,
where light had danced and disappeared.
I became the memory,
a part of the song that the sea could never swallow,
drifting where the ocean meets the sky,
where even time forgets to move.
