Melodies of a Love Song
By Jess L.
Of those nights when melodies played and sung,
when hearts fell and dropped and sunk
In the vast ocean where they meet and entwine,
to me you are my ocean,
my sun,
my sky,
my world,
my universe,
and the holder of my fragile heart.
Such cruelty you are that you captured me whole;
Drugged and taken and chained in your embrace.
Oh how I love to be between those arms,
and oh how I love seeing
those cheeks flare
from my compliments.
To you they don’t speak of truth.
But for me they whispered truth.
I will scream of this for the rest of my days,
will keep on wondering,
pondering,
of the way you make me whole.
Such beauty is you and this world.
Such elegance is you
that I believe nature would envy;
that they become red of bitterness;
that they would sing of jealousy.
Makes one wonder how one would be so oblivious.
How one could never appreciate,
the beauty,
the grace
and what
a masterpiece they are.
Staying up in the dead of the night,
Saw a tear rolling down,
And a hiccup soon followed.
What a sin it was!
What a shame it had been!
Oh darling those lines which marked your profile;
Those clouds which cloud your vision;
Those scars that you acquired,
They are a symbol of novelty.
Proof of the sacrifices that you made,
Sacrifices that were not in vain,
Sacrifices that required loyalty,
dedication and courage.
And I am filled with pride
That such a hero is my love.
Dearest,
I would love to repeat this for you
For as long as we live,
For as long as I am heard,
That everything you are,
everything you had been,
and everything you will be,
They will make me proud
They will make me rejoice your name
And will always make me love you more,
Everlastingly
and
Evermore.
