Me - When I Was A Patient

All eyes upon me,

Everyone was coming to see

Did not know where I was,

Attending physicians had identified the cause

Gathering my senses, I began sobbing,

Barely made myself utter what I was thinking

Analysts were busy,

Nothing was really easy

Lost hope and falling health,

Fear of family and losing wealth

Nurses shouting,

Attendants doubting

Medical students came to insert a cannula,

A pulsating sensation was felt till my scapula

Followed instructions diligently,

Took medications patiently

Listening to all doctors and nurses,

Never complained of the curses

With the hope that dawn will break again,

Believing their efforts shall never go in vain

Joined hands in front of god,

Praying him to keep my heart, a little broad

Angels in white gave some hope,

Requested me to; “please cope”

Thinking “that feeling will be heavenly sweet”,

When I will walk again; on my feet

With courage and support; I started enhancing,

My parents were “happy and rejoicing”

Bounteous laughs and smiles,

Residents binding up all my files

Telling that; you can go home now,

A beautiful news to endow

Before leaving; the caregivers made me cut a cake,

That gave me a sugary heartache

It made me teary-eyed,

With a joyful smile, I cried

I had thanked the staff members,

For they had raised my life numbers

Recalling everyone who said “be cheerful

Never be fearful or tearful”.

Aspiring; there is so much to obtain,

I started enjoying my “life” again.
