Mazha Ghar

By Rucha Joshi

Bhatuklicha khel mandila, chulivarchya bhakryancha sugandha darwillla,

Sayankali mallikanchya surani ghar sajle

Bhaat, bhaaji, amti, chatni, ani bhakryana ghar natle

Gharla gharpan yei jevha aaji aapa destat dolya

samori, Kay kunas thauk veglich hi maya tayanchi,

Gapashtaka rangti mag barayach vishaynvari,

Ghar ghar na vate dise nahise jhale jar te samorchya kholivari

Khandya varuni jyanchya mi jave shalet,

Fer fatka maravayas mag, tech gheun jave

baget, Fooge, ice cream, popcorn, kay have te

mile, Ratri mag kushit aajichya dole mitta mi zopi

jave

Sagle gruhit dharuni, viskatte kase bare eeka kshanat

Sagle mahit asuni kay hashil mothe honyat,

Nahi mhanaycha mala mothe honyat kahi hani, pan pavsale jevdhe jast bagahte,

Titkyatach dur hote, konitari ani kahi.

Usant milali ki darwali he vichar yene sahajik nave ka,

Ratron ratr jagun kadhtana Nishabd rahane shakya ahe ka,

Shakya aso va Naso, sutti lagli ki ghari yenyachi sukh

Gharapasun lamb gelyashivay nahi kalat,

Kahi goshti anubhavane umagtat, tyatach tar tyanchi khari gammat

Gelya kahi varshat khup kahi badalay,

Gharatlya kholya vadhata vadhata, mansan madhle antar hi vadhlay,

4 bhinti barya hotya ki, 4 chya 8 zhalya, 8 chya 16

ani ghararacha gharpanach haravla kuthetari,

Te remote sathi bhandan nahi,

Nahi aaichaya kushi chi oodh, nahi sharyat babankaduni ghosti aaiknyachi,

Nahi te sobat basun jevan,

Mothi hotana sharyat harle matra mi swataha

swatahachich, Sanga na… Aai Baba, Aaji Aappa

Samaun ghyal ka punha mala tumchya kushit

Dewala diwa lawita subhankaroti chi jyot petli,

Sanga mazh he balpan labhel ka punha ya janmi,

Mul houn mi punha anubhaven upastiti

saglayanchi, Kay mahit milel ka mala hi sandhi

punha kadhi,

Te ghar ghar vate jya ghari mi zahale mothi.

A warm, nostalgic poem that beautifully captures the innocence of childhood and the quiet ache of growing up.

Its vivid domestic imagery and emotional honesty make the longing for “home” feel deeply personal and universal.
