Maybe There is A Star Just Like Me

Maybe there is a little kid just like me,

who has isolated himself and is crying in his room.

He is crying and talking like he would to someone,

but he does it to himself because there is no one he could do that to.

He is crying because he wants to do something that he is unable to,

he is crying because he knows he can do it but is just unable to.

He had never seen this kind of isolation and hiding, he had just heard of it and never related.

He cries a little more because this new thing sounds like his now.

He wants to say a lot but knows that he will be misunderstood,

he is told words in the form of taunts,

by people that pretend to want to listen,

but in reality, like this isolation of his.

So all he does is look at the sky full of stars,

looking at how the star he wanted to be on earth has turned into the star he looks at in the sky.

Maybe at least then, every other kid crying or happy will look at him and admire.

He cannot be any kind of star at this point,

so all he does is write a poem, just like me.
