Maybe

I watch the sun as it goes down with me. At least I am not alone.

Was I pretending again? Maybe changing every time is who I am.

Is everything fine? Maybe life is just forgetting to remind me to feel the pain.

Am I mad? Maybe I am understanding or just pretending to understand.

Am I too selfish? Maybe my rage just causes me to be guilty about something I am not guilty about.

How did I miss the dots while joining them slowly and steadily? Maybe I couldn’t see them or you just hid them from me.

Did I become someone else to get your attention? Maybe I am just too lost.

What is the difference between taking time and being selfish? Maybe it’s just too difficult and complicated to love me.

How did I become the culprit by giving everything I could? Maybe I should have given you time instead.

I get it.

The clouds seem to cover the setting sun. It’s about to rain.
