What purpose serves the Herculean muscles or the wise old beard,

Like the futility of an empty chariot pulled by horses unsteered,

If they function in unfettered fashion with objectives unaligned.

What purpose serves strength & wisdom without being Master of the Mind.

Through the sky-high waves did the pirates push their rowing oars

To jump aboard the vessels and snatch its coins with bestial force.

The reflection of bravery & prowess in their murderous assault

Only made visible the mistaken path on which they could now not halt.

So what purpose served the greed of theirs when standing afront the noose,

Wearily weeping while justice balanced the weight of their seafaring abuse.

The want for more has left you no more, both your eyes had been blind.

Alas, the Master of the Sea never strove to be the Master of the Mind.

By the regal lips of Fortune, the newborn prince’s cheeks were kissed

To gift him an empire beyond horizons, to be ruled with his iron fist.

Challenging his heavenly hauteur, no poor peasant would stand willing

In a reign where a light-hearted jest oft ended in a cold-hearted killing.

So what purpose served the pride of his when revolution swept his land;

Amidst the inevitability of progressive change that he failed to understand.

Lineage turned into the New Age when the monarchy ashamedly resigned,

The Ruler never became the King and also not the Master of the Mind.

What purpose serves the Herculean muscles or the wise old beard,

Like the futility of an empty chariot pulled by horses unsteered,

If they function in unfettered fashion with objectives unaligned.

What purpose serves strength & wisdom without being Master of the Mind.
