Man or God: A Deep Dive

From unknown I was created,

A speck that came into being.

Dot to flesh then my shape,

Carved out into a beautiful woman.

Long before I learnt about you,

Yet the love and passion I had.

Beautifully adorned and perfumed,

My Lord would see me.

Nights I spent , in awe and wonder,

Crying out to you to ease my soul.

Faith over you so much My lord,

Amazing others who seek it.

At times, I cried,

You showered rain!

How can I forget?

Your Mercy over me?

I asked for love so pure and true,

But you tested me to prove to you.

I failed you again My Lord,

For man is ever hasty!

So when you did mend my heart,

A soul you sent along my path!

I knew that moment your love for me,

Was never dimming like a lantern on a tree.

But My Lord, so many nights,

I wait for my beloved to write back.

Have I then distanced from you?

Oh! My Lord! I have disobeyed you!

Reluctant and lazy or counting hours?

For him to answer my calls and texts.

Why don’t I serve you better?

Where does my heart rest?

Soon dawn it shall be,

Time to sleep has gone by.

Ah! I could have prayed to you,

My Lord! Guide my heart to peace!

Anxiety or worse, but my heart is yours,

To You shall it return!

Then why for a man does it tear so deep?

Knowing the truth of life!
