MAMA.

The biggest advocate of tough love,

Deep down as gentle as a dove,

Head held high as she walks in elegance,

Woman worth sparing more than just a glance.

If she was a fragrance, she’d be Chanel,

Freed me out of a cold dark prison cell,

Elegant like the lobby vanilla scent in a hotel,

With darkness guarded far too well.

Takes all the pain so I don’t have to,

Tries to make my dreams come true,

The biggest prayer warrior,

The never knew I needed savior,

The calm to my dad’s storm,

Her loving hands feel like home,

Ages with glamour and grace,

There’s more to het than a pretty face.

A woman who knows her value,

Will not stand down like a statue,

A woman with blessed hands,

Like an oasis in the midst of the sands.

She may not be rich,

But she is thoughtful,

With a God far more powerful than an ancestral witch,

She exudes graceful yet grateful.

A woman well loved,

Well blessed, well fed, efforts appreciated,

With praise well deserved,

Light beneath the tears she bled.

Shoulders all the burden,

The light at the end of the tavern,

Will not succumb to disrespect,

An aura I can only hope to reflect.

A God fearing woman,

Blessed with my dad, the best man,

To shoulder two kids,

That she loves, adores and feeds.

Strong enough to bear the children,

Then get back to business,

Doesn’t see us as a burden,

A blessing, she’s truly finesse.

In another life, I’d still choose her again,

Because she stands tall amidst the pain,

What else can I say,

To my Lord in thanks as I pray.
