Mama

Days went by but my life was stagnant,

Kept repeating our daily routines in my head,

How I cared for you from day in till night end,

Your presence lingered, how could I move ahead?

The sound of your voice reciting the Holy Quran,

Your chuckles when I clapped back with wits,

Your tearful eyes when you talked about your memories back then,

Your glowing face when you had desserts as treats,

Those were only a few, from our many memories,

Most of which, would get me stricken with unspeakable grief,

Mama, I called for you, but silence hit me with serenities,

It told me to let go and just be in grief, and I fully grieved.
