The land of glory with innumerable stories

Where the wind chimes of the battles won

Where Shivaji’s sword rustled through

Undefeated Baji Rao marched through.

Where history learnt the war strategies

Passion to save countrymen before thee!

The mighty Maharashtra!!!

Where the history echoes in the misty vistas

Sahayadris guarding borders,

While Arabian sea lapping its shore.

Raigad, Shivneri, Sinhagad, Torna

Pratapgad, Purandhar, humble Tikona.

Rocks carved to make magnificient Ajanta Ellora,

The grandeur of Gateway of India

To the modern Antilia!!

Every monument has a story to tell

The story of valor, bravery as well.

Story of love, story of faith

Etched on it, is ruler’s good will !

The glorious Maharashtra!!

Where Tukaram, Namdev enriched every soul,

Eknath, Dnyaneshwar resonated the core

Ravidas, Ramdas created a path

In love and harmony,

Maharashtra led the path.

The Chivalrous Maharashtra!!

Where Veer Savarkar led the country through

Tilak and Bhave followed through

With selfless work, Baba Amte proved

Sharing and caring win more hearts too

Jyotirao Phule, Vinoba Bhave

Vasudev Phadke, Krishnaji Karve

Ambedkar with a constitution new,

Gems Maharashtra produced,

Who inspired India too!

The melodious Maharashtra!!

The state takes pride in producing Lata Mangeshkar

Bhimsen Joshi and sensation  Kishori Amonkar

The soul stirring melodies and Sawai Gandharv

Maharshtra gave India , a musical splendor!

The enchanting Maharashtra!!

Where Shivali Tupe and Acharekar drew

Dada Sahab Phalke and V. Shantaram grew

Phule Deshpande, through his literary sword

Spread Maharashtra’s simplicity and earned laurels too!!

The people of Maharashtra!!

Hard as rock basalt, tough as coconut shell

Beneath is pure sweetness, that Ratnagiri hapoos will tell.

Maharashtra- the land of culture and history

May you continue to inspire and hold your mysteries

May your glory shine forever bright

And your people continue to spread love and light.

Mangal desha, pavitra desha, Maharashtra desha

Pranam dhyawa mazha, ha shree maharashra desha.
