Made An Iron Soul
By Anisha Bhattacharya
I'm calm in the shadows of the monsters under my bed
Nor am I veiled in fright of the villains within my verses.
I don't care about your faded times
Nor do I judge you for your stained acts.
I see what's beneath your rusted abode
That's not something to be left alone.
I see behind your scars and masks
I feel the pain of your healed wounds.
You believe that you are the best liar
But I believe that I'm the best seeker.
I'm not afraid of you, my quiet storm
I'm afraid of the person who made you an iron soul.
When the great men are afraid
They find monsters in the innocent.
They find the hands that embrace only the ignored air
They caramelize their visions into yours.
I know that your darkness is a home you fear
Your worries are a lost reflection.
Isn't a silent tear still a wound, no matter what the weapon?
I want to be the bandage that fixes the broken soul.
I want to wither within the phantom that created
you At the same time, I wanna love his creation
In this hall of fame, you are all I think of
To engrave about the silence of your scattered heart.
