Loving You

By Barleen Kaur

I didn’t just fall in love with you at once.

It was a rather slow downfall of my imaginary walls.

I didn’t just open the door for you,

I peeked through the windows,

I let you stand outside and waited for you to leave.

I even asked you to leave.

Sometimes pretending that no one’s home.

But you never did.

You stood there taking down the wall brick by brick.

I still watched you from afar but I let you do it.

I don’t remember the exact brick which made me fall for you,

But every brick mattered.

And before I even knew,

You were in my house,

Not like others in past who found the door open,

You made your own way in and thats how i know,

You are the one.
